UK: auditors: market concentration and their role - enquiry begins


The House of Lords Economics Affairs Committee yesterday launched an enquiry which will explore the issues arising from the 'Big Four' accountancy firms' domination of the audit market. The Committee will also consider whether auditors should have done more ahead of the banking crisis to alert investors to the riskiness of banks' assets.
